LAKELAND, Fla., October 3, 2005 -- Eighty-two members of the FUTURES Golf Tour will be in the field this week at the second LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament. This week's event begins tomorrow, Tuesday and runs through Friday at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. A tournament field of 164 players, including 13 amateurs, will compete at the 72-hole event with the hope of advancing into the final stage of LPGA qualifying.
Among FUTURES Tour members ranked in the top-30 entered in this week's LPGA sectional field are:

The Florida sectional tournament will be contested on the Bobcat and Panther courses. The field will be cut on Wednesday to the low-70 players and ties after 36 holes. The top-30 players and ties from both the Florida and previous California sectionals advance into the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. That final 90-hole competition will be held Nov. 30 through Dec. 4, in Daytona Beach, Fla., at LPGA International, using both the Champions and Legends courses.
Players advancing from the two sectional tournaments will join current LPGA Tour members attempting to improve their status, as well as non-LPGA Tour members of the FUTURES Golf Tour who finished the 2005 season ranked in the top 15 in earnings behind the five automatic exempt LPGA card winners.
